Love Letter to God

How do you write a love letter to
someone whose whole being is love?

When I was a teen my boyfriend, at the time, and I shared a note book where we would write letters to one another. So when God gave me this idea of this page (Meditate.On.It) I finally prayed for guidance and received just that. We are willing to write pages to someone we care about and I don’t think anything is wrong with that, but why not write a love letter to the one who created love? This particular topic was not supposed to be the first post but on 11/23/2015, exactly ten days after the topic came to me, I was listening to Jonathon Mcreynolds for the first time and heard his song “I love you,” it was a love song dedicated to God and I knew I had to write this first.
 Dear Father,
It feels like it took an eternity to get to you, and I know you have always been here but I kept overlooking you. I overlooked you like you were a guy that wanted to be with me but I thought they weren’t cool enough. You loved me even when I didn’t want to love you completely. I had one foot in and one foot out of our relationship and you still loved me, unconditional love is defined by you. Without you I wouldn’t understand that I’m a queen and to be treated as such. You build me up when others set to break me down. God I love you. The past is the past and I am thankful I am not there anymore. I have never felt so much joy and peace in my life before you. I can’t even lie and say that I’m a single mom because that would be taking away from all that you do for us. Who takes time to simply say “rest in me?” God I love you! You know when I’m overwhelmed, when I’m in need even before I come to you and when malice is going to come for me. You love me so much that you sent the Holy Spirit to guide me, and let me tell you I can make some terrible decisions so thanks for that!
I don’t mind the late night talks or the early morning time we share.

~I love you~
