Mommy Daughter Lesson
So this morning, I was getting my children and I ready to head out for our activities. My daughter was taking her precious time, as usual, and I felt myself getting irritated; and so I began to pray that GOD would speak to her. Then I realized I needed to be praying for myself. One of my prayers has been to be a better parent; I know GOD assigned my children to my ex and I for a specific reason. My goal is to reach my highest potential as a parent. My son and my daughter are completely different, so I can't blanket parenthood. I asked GOD in my prayer this morning to show me how to speak to my daughter, how to love her the way that she needs to be loved, to guide her the way she needs to be guided and so forth. I love my daughter very much, she is very attached to me and I desire that even as the years go by we remain close. I definitely practice discipline with my kids however I realize as a parent and an adult, I need to be mindful of the way I speak to them. My goal is to build them up not tear them down with words nor break their hearts because I'm irritated. I'm still learning but the point is I'm actively learning.
Ephesians 6:4(ESV)
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger,
but bring them up in the discipline
and instruction of the Lord.
Stay Blessed!
