House Review | Travel Blog
Happy Sunday all,
This blog post I’m switching it up a bit. Prior to beginning
this website, I loved and still do love to write reviews. Not just of companies
but also places, so I decided to write this review of this home.
If you haven’t already, go back and read my post about my
trip to Haiti, it was written in April. Surf Haiti Guesthouse is located in
Jacmel, Haiti; I spent 3 days there back in March. Other than a few people, I
didn’t share much information about this house for safety reasons, but now I’m
able to share info about where I was. Perhaps this blog will help confirm
someone’s desire to visit Haiti, or maybe there is someone who has never
thought about visiting the island and sees this post and decides to go explore
this beautiful country.
This huge house, which I refer to as the tree house *insert
smile*, is a three story home with the first and second level open to guest.
There are also individual cottages available on the property. The home is managed by a French-man by the name of Chris. He was there to greet us and
lives on the property, he was available the entire stay, but he gives guest
their own privacy. I’ve never considered staying in a home that was solar
powered before, but since staying at this home whenever I’m on Airbnb I
actually look up homes that are more eco-friendly. I felt so comfortable
staying here, from the owner, to the staff and the help I felt like I was home.
The first night we didn’t know if we should sleep with the windows opened or
not but we pretty much left them open afterwards.
Surf lessons are also offered, which I opted out of doing
this go round, but next time I’m definitely taking the lessons. There is a cool
pool towards the food area, which recirculates the water in the pool in such an
amazing way. If you don’t feel like swimming but want to enjoy the scenery
there are some lounge chairs near the pool available for use. I would definitely
stay here again!
Below I have included two links for you to find out more information on the home and hopefully book for your next trip to Haiti.
